Hauling Heroes Limited (“Hauling Heroes”, “we”) provides moving, junk removal, bin rental and demolition services in Edmonton and surrounding communities. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Information we collect

Contact details: your name, phone number and, if you provide it, your email address and preferred contact method.
Addresses: pickup, destination, job-site or delivery addresses, including city and postal code.
Job information: the service you request, preferred dates, move size, items or materials, access details, project scope and any notes you add. If you request service for a business, the company or property name.
Files you upload: optional photos of the job (JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC) and, on commercial requests, PDF documents such as drawings or a scope of work — up to 8 files of 10 MB each. Photos taken on a phone can contain embedded location data; we don't remove it, so turn off location tagging first if you prefer.
Offer details: if you tell us a junk-removal discount applies (senior or curbside pickup), we record that so it can be applied to your quote.
How you found us: the page you arrived on, the referring website, and campaign tags in the link (such as UTM codes, Google click IDs or Meta click IDs), so we know which advertising brings enquiries.
Technical information: to prevent spam, our server briefly uses your IP address to limit repeated submissions. It is held in memory for about 10 minutes and is not saved with your enquiry. Like most websites, our hosting provider may also keep standard server access logs.

How we use it

To review your request, prepare a quote, contact you about it, and schedule and provide the service you ask for.
To keep records of the work we do and to handle invoices, questions or complaints.
To understand which pages and advertising lead to enquiries.

Submitting a quote request authorizes us to contact you by phone, text or email about the service you requested. We do not sell your personal information.

Who processes it for us

Hosting and storage: enquiries are saved in a database, and uploaded files in a private folder outside the public website, on servers operated by our website hosting provider, with restricted access. Files are never publicly listed; our team opens them through signed links that expire after 90 days.
Email: each enquiry is emailed to our business inbox (HaulingheroesLimited@gmail.com) through Google's Gmail email servers (sent from and to our own business account). The email contains the details you entered and the expiring links to any files — not the files themselves. If sending fails, the server retries automatically.
Address suggestions: when you type an address, the text is sent to Google Maps Platform (Places API) to suggest matching addresses. “Use my location” is optional: your browser asks permission first, and your location is sent to Google only to look up your address.
Reviews: customer reviews shown on this site are loaded from Google.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

Analytics, advertising and cookies

This website does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies or tracking pixels. If we add tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads or Meta (Facebook/Instagram) measurement, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent through a cookie banner before they run.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and uploaded files only as long as needed to provide the service and meet our business and legal obligations, then we delete it. A backup copy of the enquiry database and uploaded files is made once a day; the 30 most recent daily backups are kept and older ones are deleted automatically.

How we protect it

Enquiries travel over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and are stored with restricted access. Each uploaded file's actual contents are checked — not just its name — to confirm it is a JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC image, or a PDF on commercial requests; anything else is rejected, as are files over 10 MB or more than 8 files. Access is limited to the people at Hauling Heroes who need it to respond to you.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We'll respond within 30 days. If you have a concern we can't resolve, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
